Just watched the whole movie again. I remember liking it when I saw it years ago. But today, it pretty much sucked. Just too much Bill "mid-life crisis" Murray. Willem Defoe's fake German accent was terrible. The whole scene with the Philipino pirates is ridiculous. and the Brazilian guitarist wasn't really doing it for me. I didn't like Cate Blanchett's "reporter" character. I'm already depressed and this movie just made me realize the futility of life. However I did like the final scene where Bill Murray throws the Austrian dressed little boy on top of his shoulders and they walk down the cobbled street accompanied by some of his Team Zissou crew---wearing the blue pajamas and the red watch caps.
