1920s Vienna. Nine-year-old Mary lives in a home filled with lovely things and loneliness. Bothered by bratty brother Max and neglected by well intentioned, but distracted, parents, she yearns for companionship and adventure. On Christmas Eve, Mary's beloved Uncle Albert arrives with the gift of a wooden nutcracker doll. Later that night, Mary's imagination brings the doll to life. Introducing himself as "NC," he takes her on a wondrous journey through a stunning dimension where toys assume human form and everything appears ten times larger. But danger lurks. An army of toothy rat creatures, led by the flamboyant Rat King and his devious mother, has unleashed a plot to overthrow humanity. When NC is captured and placed under a paralytic spell, Mary, Max and a spirited band of toy sidekicks must rescue him from the Rat King's clutches and thwart his wicked plans to 'ratify' the world.

I think this movie was the worst Nutcracker movie ever. Oh! No offense to those who loved it. But I think the songs and the story were very wired to me. Sure the trailer seemed exciting for me, but the movie disappointed me. And the rats look like evil Who's from Dr. Sues. And I love Ellie Fanning in Super 8 better than this movie and Maleficent. Disney is making their own Nutcracker movie. It is called, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Which is kind of a coincidence, because the five books that I am working on have to do with the Holidays and Realms. Anyway, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms comes out next November, in 2018. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! It's a long way. The Disney version will have Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean), Morgan Freeman (Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty), Helen Mirren (Red and Red 2) and Mackenzie Foy (Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2). James Newton Howard might do the music. I'm not a big fan of his music, but this Nutcracker movie is going to be a Christmas movie, and I love Holiday movies.
