I watched this yesterday and the reason Gabriella was shot was she tried to run to the police station, which could have still been controlled by the fascists, and betrayed the men on the train. Bit of a waste, but she made a big comeback as a disco singer in the seventies under her real name of Raffael Carra. I am interested in how these men managed to escape the Swiss authorities. One of my relatives escaped up through Italy at about the same time as this event took place. He was put into a Swiss prison camp, where he remained for over a year. How come the people in this film got away with it in Switzerland. I don't understand. - @Friday, January 2, 2009 9:40 AM

This is an entertaining enough movie but it's not great. Ol' Blue Eyes was 50 when it was made and a bit old to be playing a USAF pilot. Adolfo Celi, best remembered as Bond villain Emile Largo, shows his versatility as Major Battaglia. Rafaella Carrera was the rising star introduced in this film and I suppose she had potential to be the Sophia Loren of petite women but she seems to have disappeared after this. It's quite sexy, though, seeing her put on her stockings. - @Thursday, February 28, 2008 6:19 PM
