Wasteland is set in a world ravaged by a deadly virus and within that world is Scott Miller, a man who, against the odds, is trying to carve out some sort of life. The deadly infection that has ravaged the globe has almost totally wiped out the human race and Scott must spend his days finding water, food etc. Whilst trying to find uninfected people by radio, he must also avoid the many dangers that lurk in the outside world, while he waits for the return of the love of his life, Beth.

I was looking for the film Waste Land, a critically acclaimed documentary that follows an American photographer who travels to a third world country in search of the world largest land fill. He produces beautiful works of art that illustrate the hardships of people who scavenge to survive. He then goes on to auction off these amazing works of art and give all proceeds to the community whom he photographed. I was looking for that film but instead found this... steaming pile of excrement. Another thoughtless, low budget bandwagon zombie thriller, shamelessly squirted on to Amazon for a quick buck. I am all for cheap laughs, cheap thrills and the like.. but these movies really are complete tripe. Waste of time for everyone involved. - @Saturday, February 25, 2017 9:10 PM

Short review in german: Kurzbeschreibung in deutsch: Apokalytischer Zombiefilm, in welchem die Zombies und auch die Tricks gar nicht mal so gut sind. Allerdings handelt es sich um einen absoluten Low Budget Film, dafür ist manches sehr gut gemacht. Man behandelt hauptsächlich die Erlebnisse des Elektrikers sowieso aus England, welcher rückblendentechnisch seine Geschichte vorträgt. Er und seine Freundin Beth führen ein relativ normales Leben, bis eine zombiemäßige Apokalpse den ständigen Partys ein Ende bereitet. Als sich die Ereignisse überschlagen, macht unser Held das einzig Richtige und verschwindet mit seiner Dame aufs Land und richtet sich in einem Schafstall ganz neu ein um die Apokalypse auszusitzen. Von seiner Beth verlassen in einer Nacht und Nebelaktion, sie macht sich auf um ihre Familie zu suchen, bleibt unser sammelnder Protakunator zurück, schwelgt in Erinnerungen, sucht Lebensmittel, hauptsächlich Bohnen, betrinkt sich mit 200 ml billigem Weißwein bis zur Besinnungslosigkeit, na gut, er hatte nicht viel gegessen, chattet in 80er Manier mit sterbenden Pärchen und wartet auf die Rückkehr seiner, mir eher unsympathisch vorkommenden Freundin, die ihn partout nicht heiraten wollte. Und, tata, sie kommt zurück, leicht zerzaust und halb lebendig. Er verteidigt sie wirklich Chucky Chan mäßig, was aber nichts bringt im Endeffekt. Betroffen und einsam nach seinem Verlust geht’s auf die Pirsch, wobei er auf zwei weitere Überlebende trifft, die im gar nicht so richtig gut gesonnen sind. Die junge Dame des fiesen Gespanns entpuppt sich als immun gegen das Virus, des Weiteren kann sie nur vier Töne auf der Geige spielen, ätzend... und soll deshalb nach Frankreich eskortiert werden, wegen immun, nicht wegen der Geige. Dort soll der, wie in fast jedem Film nicht existente, Ort der Rettung sein. Man macht sich nach einem relativ unlogisch gemachten Kampf, mit den nicht sehr tot aussehenden Wiedergängern, auf den Weg zum Kanal, um die Menschheit zu retten. Der Film endet ein paar hundert Meter nach dem Verlassen der letzten Lokation mit relativ offenem Ende. Wie gesagt, für einen solchen Film sind einige Szenen und Geschehnisse gar nicht so schlecht, ich habe wesentlich üblere Filme ertragen, die Zombies könnten ein wenig mehr Schminke gut ab.
