7.1 / 10

During WWII in England, Charlie, Carrie, and Paul Rawlins are sent to live with Eglantine Price, who it turns out is an apprentice witch. Charlie blackmails Miss Price that if he is to keep her practices a secret, she must give him something, so she takes a bed knob from her late father's bed and places the "famous magic traveling spell" on it, and only Paul can activate it. Their first journey is to a street in London where they meet Emelius Browne, former headmaster of Miss Price's witchcraft training correspondence school. Miss Price tells him of a plan to find the magic words for a spell known as Substitutiary Locomotion, which brings inanimate objects to life. This spell will be her work for the war effort.

- @Thursday, November 21, 2013 8:54 PM

No offense, but I would research that further. This film has "never" been adapted for the stage legally via Disney Theatricals and it's co-licensing agency, Music Theater International. Therefore, if performed, it would be done so illegally. - @Friday, July 26, 2013 2:33 AM

My dad saw this at a drive in theater when he was 9 years old. Today the theater is no longer standing & is now a walmart. worst part of this is that I live so close to it & if I were living in the 70's now I would be working there. - @Monday, June 17, 2013 9:51 PM

I love this movie. I was born in the ealry 1990s and I find it sad that more of my peers are not familiar with this film. It makes me even more sad that the generations after mine do not appreciate this kind of movie. - @Saturday, November 24, 2012 7:30 PM
