Replicants die in their 20s, as the film showed, Deckard was in his 30s in 2019, an was still living in 2049 !! - @Sunday, December 30, 2018 12:53 AM

Of course he is not a replicant because is a stupid idea - @Monday, December 17, 2018 5:28 PM

It's much better that the audience never knows for sure if Deckard is a replicant with implanted memories, because back in the real world, the audience can never know for sure if *they* are replicants with implanted memories. - @Friday, September 14, 2018 12:36 AM

Many reasons I don't and won't accept Deckard is a replicant, one of which is the idea of Deckard being a replicant was a complete and total afterthought on the part of Ridley Scott alone. - @Monday, August 6, 2018 12:57 AM

Notice how he talks about Blade Runner in a totally different way than he does Star Wars- he likes Blade Runner. - @Thursday, May 24, 2018 2:42 AM

I don't think the Deckard character Ford played in _Blade Runner_ was a replicant. If he had been, then why did he not have the same super human strength displayed by the other male replicants such as Roy? I agree with Ford that the audience to that film needed to have a fully human character they could identify with. BTW I read somewhere that all of those scenes with fog in them were actually created using smoke bombs and that smoke was often irritating to the actors on the set. Nowadays, they can probably create all of the fog effects using CGI. - @Saturday, March 17, 2018 7:27 PM

One of those rare clips showing Harrison Ford NOT being a prick. I don't believe he actually is one, but most interviews show him with a slight "attitude" probably sue to his NOT wanting to be there in the first place. - @Wednesday, March 14, 2018 6:24 AM

He's right. Deckard should be a human. It feels better to watch both old and new Blade Runner knowing that. There are a few reasons like his relationship with Rachel. He seems to be the only human to see the replicants as equal to humans. If he was a replicant this nice effect would be gone. - @Monday, February 19, 2018 11:34 AM

I (oh boy this is going to be a complex argument) prefer deckard to be human because it emphasizes the non difference between humans and 'replicants'. It think that's more or less the geist of the whole story, 'we're all in the same boat' kind of thing. "have you ever killed a human by mistake? 'No.' But in your position that is a risk". Deckard being a replicant just distorts of distracts from that idea. On the other hand maybe that's precisely what it's supposed to mean, the unicorn scene: you're also just really a replicant. - @Thursday, December 14, 2017 5:45 AM

Deckard never be a replicant. F**k you Ridley Scott. - @Wednesday, November 8, 2017 10:56 PM

Harrison is spot-on here, the twist with the unicorn is OK, it does not detract from the film, but adds nothing and is not relevant or necessary to the story. Ridley should not try to compete with lesser directors such as Mr Shyamalan, he is too good for gimmicks like that. - @Tuesday, October 24, 2017 6:08 PM

I prefer Deckard to represent human empathy and longing for companionship and long life, not the alternative. - @Tuesday, October 24, 2017 2:12 PM

Do you Remember this? if not it is time to watch it again before you go see Blade Runner 2049! Blade Runner (1982) ...Harrison Ford is back as Dechard in the new version of Blade Runner 2049, and this is after he was killed off by his son in the new starwars Saga. This is a nice finish and the way to exit the movie since, But Harrison we love you and we don't want you to leave. Just chucking this one out here. Everybody says Gaff's origami unicorn proves Deckard is a replicant. Consider this, Deckard is a retired Bladerunner generally considered the best. If the Bladerunner unit were to develop a Nexus 6 model to work for the department, what better memories to transplant than that of its top Bladerunner. Deckard isn't the replicant Gaff is. 'Too bad she won't live, but then again who does?' Takes on a different meaning now. Origami unicorn explained, Deckard 100% human. - @Tuesday, February 28, 2017 12:02 AM

Funny how extremely naive movie makers are when trying to portrait the future. Barerly 2 years ahead and we're all gonna own flymobiles and have artificial pets. Looking forward to 2019, the year of Blade Runner. Muahaha. And what about 2001: A Space Odyssey? Someone needs to fire their future consultant. Lol. - @Monday, November 21, 2016 6:41 PM

Interesting that he feels the audience needs a human perspective in the film when the whole idea of Blade Runner is showing replicants as being more human-like than actual humans. - @Friday, March 25, 2016 2:51 AM

Howard Lovecraft
Deckard being a replicant feels like a forced attempt at a twist ending to a great movie that didn't need it. Replicants are stronger than humans and yet Deckard gets beaten up every time. He also retired from the police force. If his role was a replicant-hunting replicant then he too would have been "retired". He gets the shakes after he kills, yet he states replicants dont feel fear. - @Wednesday, March 23, 2016 8:30 AM

I loved "the feel"and look of Prometheus....typical Scott colored film...must use same cinematographer-as most directors do. The color gave the film an ominous feel...from the beginning one just felt "this isn't going to go well....." Roy Batty has inception date January 8th, 2016 and expiration date 2020. He dies after 4 years lifespan. Blade Runner takes place in 2019-2020. Roy Batty died because he was at the end of his lifespan. It is 2020 when he dies, or he would not have died. - @Saturday, November 21, 2015 7:31 PM
