Uncouth, loud-mouth junkyard tycoon Harry Brock descends upon Washington D.C. to buy himself a congressman or two, bringing with him his mistress, ex-showgirl Billie Dawn. Brock hires newspaperman Paul Verrall to see if he can soften her rough edges and make her more presentable in capital society. But Harry gets more than he bargained for as Billie absorbs Verall's lessons in U.S. history and not only comes to the realization that Harry is nothing but a two-bit, corrupt crook, but in the process also falls in love with her handsome tutor.

I prefer actresses not to have nasal high pitched voices.. but it seems like a good movie. It'll just be a little bit difficult on my ears to watch. - @Wednesday, October 16, 2013 4:58 PM

Actually, this is for a REISSUE of the film (circa 1956; when Columbia re-released their films in the '50s, they always noted in their trailers that it was a "reprint"). Art Gilmore is the announcer... - @Thursday, July 5, 2012 8:22 PM

Oh, gosh. The light just came on. (blushing) This is also one of my favorites! I think it's my favorite performance of Judy's, as well. The "gin scene" is hardcore funny! Delicious script! - @Sunday, April 5, 2009 8:01 AM
