So for everyone that doesn't understand the connection between the name and the movie.. the Byzantium empire lasted for a thousand years. (Vampires live a long time). The citizens worshipped "pagan" gods (vampires could definitely be considered pagans) and Christianity spread slowly. Once Christianity became the majority the pagan worshipers went underground and were hunted and ostracized (sounds like vampires). It's a movie about power struggle and the dynamics between old and new.. just like the empire. I enjoy history.. that's was my conclusion. Decent movie. - @Friday, August 24, 2018 3:19 AM
