Goliath was huge, David faced him in spite of his fear because he knew God would be with him and guide his stone. The David vs Goliath battle is symbolic of "facing off with the giant obstacles in our lives" due to us trusting not in our abilities or lack thereof, but rather because we trust instead, that God will be with us, therefore we know to not worry about our "giants" in life. The story is emblamtic of just putting our faith in God and going forth to face our worst fears, and being brought to victory over them through miraculous intervention. Yes, it is also a REAL, historical event that did happen, however, I think it's silly to make an entire movie based on an event that was resolved so quickly and efficiently by God, ultimately, David faced Goliath., put his trust in God's help completely and then he used his slingshot against Goliath, totally trusting God to guide the stone, which God was in control over, and it all worked out and Goliath died. Not enough for a feature length movie. But that doesn't discredit the beauty and deep spiritual lessons contained in the straight forward story. This was only the beginning of David's walking with and talking with and trusting in God.
