Remakes are usually done for fun and not to outshine the original (because let's face it - that is practicly impossible). So why are everyone so against it? I mean Grease Live wasn't any better that this, to say the least, but I enjoyed it because it brought back so many memories. I don't know... I dunno why they hafta take such a magical movie & destroy it like this! EVERYONE knows that there's only one Johnny & Baby, & that's the gorgeous & unfortunately late, Patrick Swayze, & the lovely Jennifer Grey. This just proves that the industry isn't creative & imaginative enough to come up with something new. No, once again, they hafta try to steal the energy of original classic & beloved movies, & it ain't gonna happen! This needs to sit on the shit shelf with the rest of the remakes! From what I've heard of the soundtrack just from the trailers, it sux, too! And for somebody else to sing Patrick's beautiful song, "She's Like The Wind" that he originally wrote for his wife, is very distasteful! This whole thing is an insult & disrespect to the original & the cast! I bet poor Patrick is rolling in his grave. I'm a die-hard fan of Dirty Dancing, but ONLY to the original! I've never even heard of ANY of these ppl before! Well, there is one exception, & that's Katey Sagal from the hilarious "Married With Children." Other than that, I have NO clue as to who these actors/actresses are. When I heard that guy say "Nobody puts Baby in a corner", I cringed. ONLY Patrick Swayze can deliver that line so perfectly! This is such a slap in the face to the writer & creator, Eleanor Bergstein, Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey, & the rest of the cast that made the original so magical! This is nothing but garbage, & belongs in the trash! ABC definitely WON'T be getting any points off of my TV when this is on bc I WON'T be watching it!
