Distant Drums. Set in Florida circa 1840 during the Second Seminole War, Gary Cooper leads U.S. Army troops into the Everglades against the warring Seminole Indians. There, the troopers battle renegade Indians led by a bloodthirsty chief who, among other things feeds White prisoners to Alligators, and rescues a White woman held captive by the Indians.
