The uniqueness and craziness of columbine cannot be distilled in a fictionalized rendering. It will always be the most studied school shooting of all time, not because of the body count; cannot be distilled into bullying; the homosexual aspect is a ridiculous projection of Van Sants own sick fantasy. It is unique for the fact that two young men with disparate psychopathologies, conspired for mayhem; that they planned to kill thousands with bombs; that they had no “plan” when the bombs didn’t go off; that they chose not to kill 34 ppl in the library even though they could have; that they wandered the halls for 30min and didn’t kill anyone, but simply taunted them; that they both killed themselves; that there is such an abundance of records for their motivations; Sick mofos to be sure - but just the fact that two kids could conspire for such massacre is so mind blowing. - @Thursday, December 20, 2018 2:40 AM

once upon a time i downloaded a ton of movies based off cross-referenced suggestions from imdb lists and the likes. Elephant was one of the last movies that I got around to watching and by that point I had zero recollection on even the plot let alone the tagline. So there I was imagining where the story might go and what was supposed to be happening... I was trying to build a conclusion in my mind based off what had already happened... Great experience. Being a 16 year old student that attends a high school in Colorado, I couldn't bring myself to watch this film. Since 6th grade kids in our school district have been educated on this horrid massacre. And every year in high school we attend some sort of "Rachel's Challenge." Being as educated as I am on this topic, living in Colorado, participating in Rachel's Challenge, and having met family members of the decease... I just can't watch this movie.
