Killing Season tells the story of two veterans of the Bosnian War, one American, one Serbian, who clash in the Appalachian Mountain wilderness. FORD is a former American soldier who fought on the front lines in Bosnia. When our story begins, he has retreated to a remote cabin in the woods, trying to escape painful memories of war. The drama begins when KOVAC, a former Serbian soldier, seeks Ford out, hoping to settle an old score. What follows is a cat-and-mouse game in which Ford and Kovac fight their own personal World War III, with battles both physical and psychological. By the end of the film, old wounds are opened, suppressed memories are drawn to the surface and long-hidden secrets about both Ford and Kovac are revealed.

Personally, I thought this film was a very well written, exciting and moving film, with one of the best endings I have ever seen in an action movie. I know that a lot of it probably wasn't accurate, but I really enjoyed it. Also, speaking as someone who practises archery, I have to say, it is a real treat to see actors using the proper archery technique. Finally, the soundtrack to this film is heart wrenchingly beautiful, with the end credit song being a truly sublime piece of music. A politically motivated movie that starts with one of the biggest lies 'Serbia invades Bosnia' and 200,000 Bosnians killed. All lies. So I didn't bother watching the movie, after such a shitty intro. Even fictional movies need some reality. Lost all respect for Robert De Niro, he knows better. John Travolta I'm not sure. Just for the record Serbs live in Bosnia and make up to 49% of the territory. There were about 100,000 deaths in the civil war. I saw the film on Netflix, it was pretty good, and Travolta's Serbian accent was ok. But as far as a revenge film goes, Travolta's character was absolutely in no position to go out for revenge, and he was lucky that gun shot to the back didn't kill him the first time. The side he was on, the Scorpions, they were the ones that committed freakin' genocide during the Bosnian War. And that's not the only thing the Serbians did during that war, they committed mass rape too. Yet he wanted revenge against the soldier that shot him? Think about it, that's like a revenge film where a Nazi wants revenge against a Jewish soldier, even though The Holocaust happened, you know, when Nazis killed 6 million Jews, or a revenge film where a terrorist wants revenge against an American or French soldier(or a soldier of any other country), even though they were involved in terrorist attacks. The bad guys don't deserve revenge, the blood of innocents is on their hands, and they're freakin' lucky they lived after a time where they deserved to die. - @Sunday, January 17, 2016 3:07 AM
