Not traditionally gothic. Yes has hints of the sublime but that's pretty much it. I didn't particularly care for it. (No I have not read the book). I see nothing radical about it. Pretty setting. Great camera work. Just wish there was a better plot. Would be good as a stage show, not so much as a movie. You want true gothic horror, go watch My Cousin Rachel.
