Another classic film, hijacked by those retrowave hipster shits. Not a single one of them twats could match DeVorzon's tone and feeling. - @Saturday, December 31, 2016 1:21 PM

I had a teacher back at the greater Sacramento Urban League who told us all in the class that commercials were geared to brainwash us into manipulating our thoughts to purchase.this movie is completely ahead-of-its-time.I had this teacher in 2006 - @Sunday, July 31, 2016 3:14 AM

Yeah, the old days of HBO, and that shitty cable box. You had 30 channels on it, and when you pressed 3 and 7 at the same time you got the scrambled playboy channel. - @Saturday, March 2, 2013 6:10 PM

It is truly amazing how acurately Michael Crichton envisioned the future. I was 23 when this film came out and the message kind of stuck in the back of my mind all these years. The term "CGI" is used in this film. It is incredible that what was science fiction back then is science fact today. Look at films like Avatar and Tron-Legacy. Another interesting film from that period is Brainstorm with Christopher Walken and Natalie Wood. Virtual reality on steroids! - @Friday, May 11, 2012 8:53 AM

What people don't realize is that Michael Crichton did a very good job on what the future of television is today, what you saw in this film in 1981 goes on today with actors on films and commercials. We call it air brushing but what is happening is that they are being washed through the computer and made to look perfect. Also Michael made a film called Westworld check it out it was a great film. Not only is the man a great author but a great film director to.;-) - @Friday, April 20, 2012 11:24 PM

I seen this as a kid but i could not remember the name at all! It took me years of searching because all i remembered was the freeze gun and the end scene where they are fighting it out in the commercials now that i found it after all these years i am glad because it brought back memories - @Thursday, October 6, 2011 4:11 AM

While the movie can be considered nonsense, it's also really stylish and thought provoking. Bold synth score by Barry Devorzon. - @Friday, July 29, 2011 4:22 AM

That explains the moist spot on the rug, Danny. I used to walk barefoot and wonder what that stuff I was walking through. I thought it was chip dip. signed: Your Mom. - @Sunday, February 7, 2010 1:59 PM

This and Sheena are great memories for me because they had nudity along with being rated PG. So HBO could air them in the afternoon before my parents came home. Good times. - @Friday, July 17, 2009 1:06 AM
