A collection of short stories. In one a woman who leaves her house late at night to drive to the store while a killer is loose encounters some problems. In the second an arcade whiz kid's obsession with a game leads to deadly consequences. In the third a small town priest loses his faith and decides to leave town, but in the desert is stalked by a mysterious black pick-up truck. In the final story, a family's problem with a rat is larger than they think.

What I like about this Anthology film, is real simple. The plots could easily be expanded to a 2 part of each. Joseph Sargeant would of want to do a NIGHTMARES 2, cause of the fact that tales like TERROR IN TOPANGA, BISHOP OF BATTLE, THE BENEDICTION, and NIGHT OF THE RAT. This can be bigger than that, otherwise it would of been on TV and not the Theatre. If it wasn't for bankruptcy on the BISHOP OF BATTLE arcade incident, they would have the money to do a sequel. But even in this present today, it would not be the same as it was in 1983. I still think is pretty good though, just wish the Anthology tales would have a follow up, cause ending of the tales looks like an opening for a 2 part of it. - @Tuesday, September 2, 2014 4:02 PM
