In 1984 20 year old closet gay Joe hesitantly arrives in London from Bromley for his first Gay Pride march and is taken under the collective wing of a group of gay men and Lesbian Steph, who meet at flamboyant Jonathan and his Welsh partner Gethin's Soho bookshop. Not only are gays being threatened by Thatcher but the miners are on strike in response to her pit closures and Northern Irish activist Mark Ashton believes gays and miners should show solidarity. Almost by accident a mini-bus full of gays find themselves in the Welsh village of Onllwyn in the Dulais valley and through their sincere fund raising and Jonathan's nifty disco moves persuade most of the community that they are on the same side. When a bigot tries to sabotage the partnership with a tabloid smear Mark turns it back on her with a hugely successful benefit concert to which most of the villagers, now thoroughly in tune with their gay friends, turn up. The miners are defeated and return to work but at the Pride march ...

PERVERT & THE PRIME MINISTER Savile sent letter to Thatcher declaring his 'love' JIMMY Savile's hold over Downing Street in the 1980s is revealed in a series of letters in which he declares his "love" for former prime minister Margaret Thatcher, according to newly released records from Britain's National Archives. Savile met Mrs Thatcher at Downing Street and Chequers in his successful attempts to secure a government donation for Stoke Mandeville Hospital. In a letter sent to Mrs Thatcher in February 1980, Savile said that his "girl patients" were "madly jealous" of her. He later asked her to appear on 'Jim'll Fix It', a request she declined. Since his death it has been alleged that Savile sexually abused sick girls at the hospital, some of whom were as young as eight. As a major fundraiser he was left "free to roam" the wards and even had his own room. Friend The hospital is only three miles from the prime minister's official residence, Chequers, and Savile became a friend of Mrs Thatcher. The pair reportedly spent New Year's Eve together 11 years in a row. The first meeting took place in February 1980. A week later Savile sent Mrs Thatcher a handwritten note in which he wrote: "Dear Prime Minister. I waited a week before writing to thank you for my lunch invitation because I had such a superb time I didn't want to be too effusive. My girl patients pretended to be madly jealous + wanted to know what you wore + what you ate. All the paralysed lads called me 'Sir James' all week. They all love you. Me too!! Jimmy Savile OBE xxx." The Tories had made cuts to benefits for the disabled. Norman Fowler, the health secretary said a donation to Stoke Mandeville would help show government support for disabled people "had not ended". - @Friday, May 11, 2018 1:35 PM

We have so much to thank this generation of the LGBTQ people!!! it's Thanks to them we love the way we do. A politician didn't do this, and it sure as hell didn't happen on its own. I'll never forget that. 🌈Ps: It's a bit late but happy pride month :) - @Monday, August 28, 2017 12:37 AM

If someone told me' burn in hell or god hate you, I just take it as a joke. I don't take it seriously. I don't give a shit about your manner. I do whatever I want. I don't care about other that much. So my mum always told me I am selfish and stubborn. God hate no one. I care about myself, my love ,my family , the children, the good people and the animals. I don't care about someone who hate other without reason. - @Thursday, December 15, 2016 2:09 PM

I don't understand why do some people hate LGBT? There is no reason to hate them. I grew up in a middle class family and we live in country side. I never heard about LGBT till I was 17. I encountered two lesbian couples and one is our distinct relative( I didn't know the term Lesbian at that time). I never heard talking bad about them from my family or from other people. May be we just simply live our life and we don't think too much about other and we don't judge other. When I attend the university in Big city and I learned so many new things. I knew what LGBT mean. I never felt it is disgusting since the first time I heard about it .Honestly I love them. I think their love is more special or something that is diffrent. I heard some antigay talking too. What things taught or made them to think gay is disgusting? I hate people who hate gay. I think most people in our country behave like outsiders in concern with LGBT. - @Thursday, December 15, 2016 1:57 PM

I really enjoyed this movie,it was like another piece of the past came back to remind us what they were fighting in the past, because they really believed in what they were fighting not like today feminists and LGTB(for the record I'm not generalizing things I'm just disappointed by they methods, they forgot their ideals) because today in this crazy and illogical world full of discrimination, terrorist attacks and greed we need each other more than in the past and despite the fact that I'm not a gay person I feel close to this people because I know what means being judged by a stereotype without having the chance to prove what you really are. Also it was so weird seeing Imelda Staunton playing the nice lady instead of the wicked one. - @Sunday, October 23, 2016 2:54 PM

Not a great trailer - brilliant film. Funny yet serious, political yet genuinely heartwarming, I could not recommend it higher, I wish that there were some bi and trans characters, but then it's based on real life so if there weren't any in that group then sound. It is one of my favourite films of all time and if you're not sure whether or not to give it a try I would encourage you to do so. - @Tuesday, July 12, 2016 10:55 PM

I loved this movie, it's funny and heartfelt and best of all: based on a real story. Though the characters are of course fictionalised, and they were amazing. I would really recommend it if you like to have a good laugh (which is seldom enough in gay-themed movies) - @Sunday, July 10, 2016 6:35 PM

Hugely cliched and cringeworthy. Would have been edgy 16 years ago. It's a relic of a dead age of faux naivety and stereotypes. Let's look forward. If we have to look back, make a film that is real and new and not full of cheap jokes aimed at the lowest level of box office humour. - @Wednesday, July 6, 2016 8:30 PM
