The Russian players used to play for their country, for aspiration. Now they play for money like man in the States and clearly that hasn't turn out well for them. This trailer does not do justice for the film, the trailer certainly is propaganda, but no the film. The film is told by someone who ACTUALLY was born in the soviet union, was part of the "Red Army", was the Russian Minister of Sport, and told by his perspective, about his life, his country, and his professional career. Disregarding retarded comments - hey, it's YouTube, what else you're expecting - the film is historically valuable enough to pay for the ticket, but simplified enough to fall into soviet cliches and subjective view of author. There's a tricky balance between boring long historically accurate overview and smooth storytelling suitable for general foreign public - with anti heroes and dropping years worth of details. In 1959, my Dad took me to see Red Army play the Trail Smoke Eaters on the Russians way to the 1960 Olympics. The Russians played well. Hockey fans filled the Trail arena and then some. Trail won 7-6. Red Army knew where to find good competition to hone their skills against. WIHL teams won the World Championships 4 times, 1937,1939, 1955 and 1961.
