He was and still is my favorite actor of all times and I have so much respect for this man. He was a light in my life and I still can't recover from his death. As a child growing up i was brought up watchin Robin in Mork and Mindy and from there i was hooked on him, in later life as he transitioned into film i watched in awe as he made me smile, cry and laugh so loud my sides hurt. When this amazing man passed away i mourned his death very hard, like i'd lost a close family member as i came to realise this funny tallented man had gone from my life and never to return. For days afterwards just the mere thought of him, a video or a meme and i would break down in tears. I have suffered with depression for a long time and watching Robin helped me in some of my darkest times, his stand up would make me smile through my tears and remind me there is happiness in the world and it wasn't all doom n gloom.. I miss this guy more each year and i cannot wait to introduce my young daughter to the guy who inspires me to make others laugh around me who are feeling down.. I want to see it, but I'm afraid to see it. The loss of his incredible insight into human nature is still painful. My husband and I watched this for the first time last night and we were just enthralled from beginning to end. I was a teenager back in the mid to late '70s when Robin and several comedians were being discovered in that era. But there was something about Robin Williams that others couldn't compete. I was a huge fan of Happy Days so yes that of course was when I really discovered him like a lot of people did. Then Mork and Mindy came along. Watched that as well. Then my husband and I (my boyfriend at the time), in 1986 after we graduated from college we moved to NYC and as a birthday present he got us tickets to see Robin at the MET. Don't forget this is the guy that w/ a little help from his friends and Apple paying for a live Commercial Reading of 'Dead Poet's Society'..... instead of ripping a clip and claiming it as Fair Use.... instead of at least paying him some residual income on that.
