On the subtropical Japanese island of Amami, traditions about nature remain eternal. During the full-moon night of traditional dances in August, 16-year-old Kaito discovers a dead body floating in the sea. His girlfriend Kyoko will attempt to help him understand this mysterious discovery. Together, Kaito and Kyoko will learn to become adults by experiencing the interwoven cycles of life, death and love.

Just happened to spot this by chance - and watched the full movie as well. Film was something of a disappointment with many scenes of quality punctuated with many other scenes of monotony and, sadly, irrelevance (how many times did we have shots of the sea and waves breaking which did not add to the story). One would guess that perhaps the film makers wanted a fill-in of sorts. Occasional lack of explanation didn't help either. Generally nicely filmed though with two attractive leads (boy and girl). Opening scene with the slaughter of the animal (goat) was unnecessary. - @Monday, March 28, 2016 6:05 AM
