From the creators of The Signal (Sundance 2007) comes Synchronicity, a mind-bending 'Sci-fi Noir' in the tradition of Dark City, Blade Runner, and Alphaville. When physicist Jim Beale invents a machine that can fold space-time, a rare Dahlia appears from the future. He must now find the flower's identical match in the present to prove his machine works. Jim soon discovers that the Dahlia lies in the hands of a mysterious girl, who seduces him into revealing his secrets. Convinced that he's fallen prey to a femme fatale trying to steal his invention, Jim travels back in time to stop her betrayal before it happens. But once in the past, Jim uncovers a surprising truth about the machine, the girl, and his own reality.

This is one of those movies about a love story wrapped in a sci-fi twister of time travel, with a mood and soundtrack very reminiscent of Blade Runner. It's a great flick to watch late at night, but will sadly be instantly forgettable. Primer is still the best movie when it comes to themes on time travel, as is Memento from an editing/storytelling standpoint for perceptions of time and memory. That being said, I absolutely love the cinematography of the cityscapes, plus the insides of the buildings, it definitely sets the right mood for this film. The rain streaks on the windshield of the cab Jim and Abby take to go back to Abby's place for the first time was a very nice touch for a clue about where the story would eventually lead. - @Wednesday, October 17, 2018 4:51 AM

I saw the trailer months ago, it had me excited at first, but this thing falls flat pretty quick. I liked the signal; this had an interesting concept, but failed execution, regardless of budget. Mostly boring, and it tried far too hard to seem like blade runner. I gotta say this movie has the potential to be great......like regardless of a budget, a really thought provoking, intelligent and well made Sci fi/Time travelling film. Though however close to achieving this it may be, I honestly cannot forgive some terribly slips in the plot (possibly due to the writer, more than how the film was pieced together). Without spoiling it I'll say even when you introduce a multiple dimension theory - Logically you can't have a time traveller travel back in time and do something in day 5 of the past.....only to then show in a sequential scene that would have been on day 1. Spoiler Below The main character Jim Beale is seen to give the Flower back to Abby saying that "in 2 days" he's going to start the machine (greating the 2nd wormhole). The film then follows a scene showing Jim Beale attempting to use his teams very own 'practise set up' to be set back in time a 2nd time........however this was the practise set up for creating the 1st workhole; therefore 5 days before this previous scene. Though I understand when planning the film mistakes can occur, however this is a vital sign of bad writing; and though no where near the level of Project Almanac (which didn't make the slightly bit of sense) - It still created a void that wasn't filled via another 'time-jump' or simple 'plot addition' - 6/10 - @Thursday, August 18, 2016 2:16 PM
