Moe Berg was not bisexual as the director makes him. There’s no evidence to suggest that Berg was anything other than straight. He was a lifelong bachelor who enjoyed his freedom. He had many girlfriends throughout his life. When the New York Times asked the director how he came to this version of Berg, he replied “I researched his life and interviewed numerous friends and acquaintances”. When asked to be more specific, he changed the subject. It’s one thing to take artistic liberties in a film to make it more dramatic. Saw the film before release. Loved it. Not an action film. A very low key story of what Moe Burg actually did as a patriotic American in world War 2. There is building tension about whether he will kill a German scientist and he offers no reassurance other than to say he will met the man and make that decision after he gets a sense of whether he is lying or not.
