Is it humankind's greatest achievement? 12 billion miles away a tiny spaceship is leaving our Solar System and entering the void of deep space. It is the first human-made object ever to do so. Slowly dying within its heart is a plutonium generator that will beat for perhaps another decade before the lights on Voyager finally go out. But this little craft will travel on for millions of years, carrying a Golden Record bearing recordings and images of life on Earth. In all likelihood Voyager will outlive humanity and all our creations. It could be the only thing to mark our existence. Perhaps some day an alien will find it and wonder. The story of Voyager is an epic of human achievement, personal drama and almost miraculous success. Launched 16 days apart in Autumn 1977, the twin Voyager space probes have defied all the odds, survived countless near misses and almost 40 years later continue to beam revolutionary information across unimaginable distances. Netflix has this....otherwise it's worth more than the $1.99 offered by YouTube. That is Carl Sagan's son, Nick, who says hello from the children.... I understand why the scientists cry and have issues (even when first encapsulating Voyager when they could no longer see it). I cried with this....and Cassini. Makes Star Trek I worth seeing again. - @Wednesday, November 21, 2018 3:51 PM

What if the Voyage gets smashed or crashed into something? Is it possible that our one and only one string of hope be destroyed just like that without us knowing it? I am about to watch the whole documentary, lets see what's in there. - @Saturday, April 7, 2018 3:07 PM

The aliens already know all about us and they will tell the real truth about our corrupt existence! How we destroyed our planet with lies and deceit! Yes, there were good people here but unfortunately they will be forgotten. - @Saturday, March 24, 2018 2:56 AM

it would take 100 000 years just to reach the next star, so no worries about the aliens, we would either be long gone by then, or have technology to retrieve that golden plate in much less time - @Tuesday, March 6, 2018 10:33 PM

What was disturbing about the recording of different languages, was thta they got white Jewish women for example to record Arabic and Portugese. That's insane. - @Saturday, December 30, 2017 5:17 AM

Wonderful film and soundtrack. The greatest thing mankind has done, leave its own solar system ... .done at a time when mankind was at its peak. We were on the moon, we were leaving the bounds of our sun ... and then we fucked it all up. To think that in billions of years all that will be left of us is Voyager out there on its own. It will never stop, there's nothing for it to run into. - @Saturday, December 30, 2017 5:16 AM

Here is the truth Based on word who created the universe not going to argue if you don't believe so you can just move on : 0- God can create anything without time but he created them in time so the human can understand more. 1- God created the earth and the whole universe in 6 days. 2- God created the earth in 2 days. 3- God created every life on earth like Human/animals/creature/plants in 2 days. 4- God created everything else (universe without earth) in 2 days. So earth(2)+human And Animals And every other creature or plants (2)+universe(2)=6 1st conclusion If you think about it then you should already know that the detail of the earth that took 2 days = to the detail of the whole universe. 2nd conclusion And there is no planet is going to be like earth otherwise creating of the universe will take more than 2 days. 3rd conclusion : there is no intelligent that equal to human is going to be other than the earth since the human+animals took 2 whole days and that show the complicity and the detail Human creation. that doesn't mean there are no other creature outside of our galaxy but if there is one then its not as intelligent as us and if we ever meet them then they would not be threat to us just like animals low intelligent creatures since God didn't warned us from anything other than the demons which they are Jins and we will never able to see them and the only power they have is to manipulate our mind and thinking nothing more. This give the human all the information, so protect the earth and don't destroy it as you will never find something like it anywhere in the universe. - @Friday, December 22, 2017 12:07 AM

This is a bad documentary. It's just two hours of VH1-style talking head soundbytes interspersed with mostly meaningless stock footage. It's dull and repetitive. There's enough material here for maybe 25 minutes of a show. It's difficult to fathom how they managed to screw this up to the extent they did. What a missed opportunity. What a shame. - @Saturday, December 16, 2017 12:35 AM
