10/10!! Absolutely believable script, with professional in-depth character development. Engrossing, fast paced film with unbelievable special effects, impossible to discern the effects from reality! Absolutely zero horror movie cliches to be found in this gem of a spine-tingling horror movie! Even the Army Rangers who come in to battle the frighteningly real looking demons from the Gate and save the children were outstanding! You would NEVER know this movie was released in 1988, it by all appearances, is a current release with a very strong cast of characters, each with a powerfully intriguing backstory. Love this movie. It has that Poltergeist and Close Encounters of The 3rd Kind feel to it; like you really are watching something otherworldly, or at least a reenactment of the event.
