They ripped off the promo images(the picture on the DVD case) from the real Mummy series, the opening sequence from Universal Studios and the special effects(including the Mummy's appearance) from Freddy Krueger. It also looks like they stole the acting performances from the cast of Napoleon Dynamite. The difference is Napoleon was a dry comedy on a shoe-string budget that wasn't supposed to be good(which is, ironically, what made it great). But, considering how movie critics get it completely wrong every time, chances are that they will tell you its the best movie ever made. Hell they said that Funny People, the worst, most boring movie ever released, was great and we should go watch it. They also said that every Expendables movie was horrible and a waste of time. Funny people grossed 5 million less than what it cost to produce, the Expendables has grossed over half a billion more than the budget. I actually don't watch movies that the critics say are great until they come out on DVD because chances are I'll hate it. Remember Grind? Boo! Yes, I'm booing this poor excuse for a film. After much consideration, I actually downloaded it, because I wanted to see if the trailer was bad, but the movie was good. I tried, man, I really did. The entire production seemed to have a low budget and focusing on all the wrong things. The main cast had about 6-7 people in it and less than half could act decently. The rest sucked. They sucked hard. Even the main character, who played the daughter. She was actually the worst one. It even seemed like the cast and everyone working on this piece of shit, didn't even want to be there. Maybe that's part of why it was so awful. Most of the effects were also bad, but some were decent. I'm sad to say that the effects were the highlight on this atrocity. One of my biggest pet peeves, aside from the horrible acting, was the manuscript. Awful line after awful line and the set sucked, as well. Probably the only upside, was that nearly all actresses were kinda hot and had sexy bodies. You know that a movie is really bad, if the actresses physical appearances were the only upside. I deeply regret downloading this fucking movie and regret even more watching it. What a waste of my time and the people working on it.
