At the age of 7, Jesus Bar-Joseph lives with his family in Alexandria, Egypt, where they have fled to avoid a massacre of children by King Herod of Israel. Jesus knows that his parents Joseph and Mary have secrets they are keeping from him, secrets about his birth and about traits that make him very different from other boys. His parents, however, believe him too young to grasp the truth of his miraculous birth and purpose. Learning that the murderous Herod is dead, they set out to return to their home of Nazareth in Israel, unaware that Herod's namesake son is, like his father, determined to see the boy Jesus dead.

The Coptic (=Egyptian) Church has some historical manuscripts and modern research detailing the 3 year trip the holy family has made to Egypt. What really is amazing about such the journey is the recorded fact (as per those manuscripts) that every town the Lord has visited all Egyptian temples fell to the ground. They traveled from the east, crossing hat is now the Suez canal, and went all the way to the south to the province of Asyoot, never south of Asyoot and never to the west of the Nile delta. Guess where those temples that exist until today are. This movie is going to be huge. It captures the essence of Jesus as a child. Sure, it incorporates fictional elements, but it doesn't pretend to be a biography. That's what fiction is as an art form- it gives us an underlying truth using the writer's talents as a storyteller. Looks like another cheesy Christian film. Among the reasons is that Gentiles simply are too far removed from the 1st century Jewish mind set, culture, and world to accurately depict Jesus' milieu. For instance, how would a first century Jew understand the concept "Son of God"? Likely as they did Psalm 2 and 45...coronation psalms sung at the enthronement of the Davidic kings, which perpetuated the theology that the Davidic king is adopted as the "Son of God" on the day of his coronation. It is highly doubtful that the story of Jesus' virgin birth, which appears only in one chapter of one Gospel, was circulating while he was still alive on the earth. That is just one example. And, how about the goofy depiction of the "three kings," one of which is African (even though they came from the East), none of which is mentioned in the Gospels? You want to see good and accurate movies about Jesus...you will have to wait until some creative Jews believe in him, and decide to make a movie about him. - @Tuesday, March 8, 2016 6:38 PM

I think the trailer is pretty cool. It's fine to me that the kid is white really, but I just wish they chose a kid that didn't look as well. I mean who Jesus is is very important and the message, so if this story is told then I think it would have been better to choose a kid that didn't look so well, because it's like they keep suggesting that your natural appearance is a very good indicator of your social significance. It's like how Jesus is almost always depicted as this pretty good looking guy with long hair and a beard, rather than like some average looking guy who "has no beauty that [one] should desire him" .
