Action Crime Drama Thriller

7.3 / 10

Working largely in cases of counterfeiting, LA based Secret Service agent Richie Chance exhibits reckless behavior which according to his longtime and now former partner Jimmy Hart will probably land him in the morgue before he's ready to retire. That need for the thrill manifests itself in his personal life by his love of base jumping. Professionally, it is demonstrated by the fact that he is sextorting a parolee named Ruth Lanier, who feeds him information in return for him not sending her back to prison for some trumped up parole violation. With his new partner John Vukovich, Chance is more determined than ever, based on recent circumstances, to nab known longtime counterfeiter Ric Masters, who is more than willing to use violence against and kill anyone who crosses him. Masters is well aware that the Secret Service is after him. Masters' operation is somewhat outwardly in disarray, with Chance being able to nab his mule, Carl Cody, in the course of moving some of the fake money, ...

This movie was in my mind outstanding. The energy was there. It give a sense of right and wrong and that line of temptation some cross that's so exciting. I give this one the best rating possible - @Friday, July 6, 2018 12:45 AM

Theres been some talk, rumours if youre savvy that way, of it going to tv land the same way as lethal weapon made it to the small screen. i had to laugh through this trailer,,...its so good, that its too good, and when its that good, you know its good lol . but yah, totally awesome trailer for a great film. - @Tuesday, August 15, 2017 5:58 PM

" I was surprised to see it wasn't a Michael Mann movie, the influences are obvious." The film is directed by William Friedkin, it's similar to French Connection on of the best film of the previous decade. The sound and aesthetics are similar to Mann's Thief and latterly Manhunter. - @Wednesday, April 15, 2015 2:51 PM

There was once a time, way back in the past called "the good old times", when a cinema movie trailer of 2 complete minutes could give you a glimpse of what will await you WITHOUT telling you the whole freaking story. That, children, is history. Won't happen today. - @Sunday, March 29, 2015 12:03 AM

Just watched it for the first time ever. Man, what a fantastic flick. I was surprised to see it wasn't a Michael Mann movie, the influences are obvious. If only William Petersen had done more movies like this. He was awesome in "Manhunter" as well.  - @Sunday, October 5, 2014 10:01 PM

It's Will vs Will. Can't believe I haven't seen this film yet. Bill Petersen could've/should've been a huge movie star during the 80's & 90's but apparently wasn't interested in becoming one. His performance in Manhunter was a tour de force, as was Tom Noonan's. - @Saturday, March 1, 2014 9:19 PM

This film has tended to gain a strong cult-following in recent years of course partly because of the popularity of Willliam Petersen in his role on CSI this was one of the better crime dramas coming out of the 80's - @Wednesday, July 3, 2013 12:07 AM

The main car chase over railroad tracks, concrete ravine, etc. it is in an' 80 Impala with a '79 and an '81 Malibu in chase...all 9C1s... - @Wednesday, April 3, 2013 2:49 AM

Oscar Padilla
I don't remember seeing any 9C1s in the film. Besides why are you bringing performance into this? I think aesthetically they look ugly, like long square boats. I originally commented on the DESIGN not the ENGINEERING. - @Thursday, March 28, 2013 11:53 PM

Rik Dal
Get back with me when your modern plastic POS hits 300-500,000 miles and is all original ...sound crazy? Not for a 9C1, but not everybody knows cars... - @Monday, March 25, 2013 4:55 AM

Oscar Padilla
I would take any modern counterpart of any car that was used in that film. - @Sunday, March 24, 2013 9:24 PM

What.. The fuck was that??? Im seeing it!!!- reactions of the first crowd that saw this trailer. I wish I could've been there to see people's initial reactions to a trailer when they have no idea what to expect or see. This thing comes at you like a train. Flashes of scene so you never know the context. - @Sunday, March 24, 2013 8:11 PM

Very good ear ! Yes, Wang Chung indeed, and they did an entire soundtrack, as well as the lead song to the film. Some great music ! - @Sunday, March 24, 2013 7:52 AM
