This is a true and realistic composition; showing the human side of being poor people of color attempting to traverse, while surviving in, the western world's arbitrary socio-political maze (or prison...for too many). I appreciate that they left the stereotypical aspects by the wayside and employed the Universal Archetypes that *all* human beings emulate, regardless of the fictitious conception of race, creed and class.
