Jean Simmons died in 2010, of lung cancer, almost certainly caused by heavy smoking. There are several superfluous smoking scenes in this movie (including here). It's almost as if these scenes were written into the script to help satisfy her apparent nicotine addiction. - @Saturday, March 26, 2016 12:18 AM
