Good movie like Both Viola Davis and Maggie's performances. Now let's get down to business. We all know the school system is corrupt. Teachers, some do care others are just there.( for the money). Then there's the board of Education(The controller of it all) But this goes to the parents as well. Now I know there's single parents, who work, or both parents But the first duty is your children. - @Sunday, November 11, 2018 11:43 PM

I want to see this movie, it looks so good!  it reminds me of my son when it took me 2 years to find him a good school for my son he went publicschools  pre k up to 2 grade the first public school  he learn to write is name and tracing and numbers until they move him  out to to other school then special ed there did not allow me  observer him so I talk to the higher ups only I can do that if they send cop to hold my hand to do so even though it is law in my state . then there was another time we had meeting with the teacher tells me not worry about the reading I let me worry about it she said oh I was tick off about it. am parent that worries about my kids education he did not even  know his abc's all the way   all the way reading was tough for him  when I put him in charter school  going to 8 hours day it helps with my kids he now in 5 grade reading 3 grade lvl math in 5 grade lvl and the teachers work with parents any school that work with parents is a good school any school who wont work with parent and students is not school  am parent believes in education will do any thing for there  kids like this mom did am very proud parent . - @Monday, July 27, 2015 1:12 AM

Yet another Hollywood movie about the "ills" of public education. Demonizing teacher unions is continues to be a distraction from the multitude of endless destructive policies primarily put into place by Republicans hell-bent on continuing their "war" against educating the general public. Yes, the educational (ex. No child left behind) and economic policies sold by to the public by conservatives is the ROOT of the problem...not teacher unions. - @Sunday, September 1, 2013 5:49 PM

Funny enough, I lived in one of the more liberal school districts in Texas, the best preforming one in the state. Conservative parent groups staged a gradual take over; suddenly special education classes became a prison, teen pregnancies skyrocketed once sex education was dismantled to abstinence only, as extra circular activities were removed save for sports. The latest conservative hard on is to dismantle public education, and it wont stop until they have a dumb enough voting base. - @Monday, August 19, 2013 1:51 AM

A film co-produced by Walden Media, a production company owned by Anschutz Entertainment Group, whose owner is Philip Anschutz, a conservative Christian who has a history of giving money to conservative causes such as the Parents Television Council and the Institute for American Values which actively campaigns against same sex marriage. So a film against failing public schools showing teaching unions as corrupt funded by a conservative activist. Tell me there's not an agenda going on here. - @Saturday, August 17, 2013 4:58 PM

This movie is sponsored by Rupert Murdoch, Is it obvious they are planning to privatise public schooling???? They have been working for some time to destroy education so you dumb fucks will hand over billions of dollars a year to these international criminal cartels. This movie is nothing more then propaganda for the weak minded for when the offer is made that privatised education will have a better standard, but really they want to condition your kids to be worker slaves. Have fun. - @Tuesday, August 13, 2013 12:36 AM

Great flick. This tells the truth failing schools---there are political interests who WANT them to continue failing. It need not be unions, either, but there's always some group sucking at the teat for some big money at the "poor" failing school district. They'll play dirty to keep getting that money despite their failures. - @Saturday, July 20, 2013 9:52 PM

What a load of fucking garbage! 1) It is not the teachers in school who are the issue it is the funding of the teachers and the rules placed on them 2) Most childrens learning disabilities come from the PARENTS AT HOME or it comes from the lack of structure due to poor economic situations! 3) You know when you go to a business and they try to force you to pay for EVERYTHING and it is all over priced.. Just think about that before you think private schools are better. - @Sunday, June 16, 2013 6:42 PM

Private schools do not have better teachers. You can take any teacher from a private school. I an certain that they would not last a day in an urban public school. Not a charter school that requires parent participation. You try calling a parent at a an urban public school, the numbers are disconnected, you get hung up on, and there was even a time when I spoke to a mother who denied her child because she didn't care to hear how her child was doing in school. - @Friday, May 17, 2013 12:01 AM

People don't understand that there is more to the educational systen than the teachers. Teachers have very little power. People want to blame the unions for the school systems but it is much more complicated. What about disrespectful children that are not allowed to be removed from the class? What about the lack of parent participation? I became a teacher to change the system but I found out very quickly that my power is limited. I dont choose what I teach or how I teach. I get no support. - @Thursday, May 16, 2013 11:59 PM
