The myth of King Arthur brought once again to the screen. Uthur Pendragon is given the mystical sword Excalibur by the wizard Merlin. Guided by Merlin, Arthur marries Guenivere and gathers the Knights of the Round Table. Arthur's evil half-sister Morgana sires a son with him, who may prove his downfall.

I Watched this Movie as a Child and some scenes were too hard for me and my brothers. Our parents cut them out :D but this Movie is very good and has a deep atmosphere - @Wednesday, January 9, 2019 10:09 PM

I can't decide if when I think of Lancelot and the Lady of the Lake, I think of Harold and Maude or Romeo and Juliet. Arthurian lore is so...unusual. - @Friday, September 22, 2017 4:19 PM

At 0:31 there is a Real Fey creature! A brown wood folk, one of the last of the Little People! Not seen in the film, this shy land owner was secretly filmed in a remote, feral corner of the Celtic Fringe, after graciously giving a film crew consent to take footage of an exceptionally lush hitherto hidden hollow!! - @Monday, October 31, 2016 12:31 AM

I'm watching this now. I love this movie. But some of that love is because of its silly flaws. I feel like if you don't know anything about the Arthurian legend, you would be soooo confused. - @Tuesday, September 20, 2016 1:37 AM

0:34 the scene with hanging men in trees and fog. Is there a scene of crow eating an eye from one of the hanging body? Saw that scene *very* long time ago when I was but an infant, is this the same movie? - @Wednesday, January 20, 2016 9:28 PM

I found this watchable and certainly has the 'magic' of a lot of 80s fantasy films. In fact I am watching it right now. But I found the acting very theatrical and a lot of the details were wrong. Arthur supposedly lived in the 5th Century and yet the steel knights garb is more akin to the 15th century along with the term 'squire' which Arthur is originally referred to. I am aware it is corresponding to Mallory's version which was a romanticised medieval interpretation Not trying to offend anyone who thinks this is the best Arthur film but I respectfully disagree. I just can't really adapt to the anachronistic nature of this film If you want a good 80s fantasy, go for this If you want a film that gets as close as is likely to what a real Arthur may have been (a Romano-British leader who knew a 'Merlin' figure only vaguely, if at all then the 2005 'King Arthur' is great. Both films offer something. - @Thursday, July 2, 2015 2:09 AM

Poetry in motion. The ancient world dies and the new kingdom rises. Betrayal turns into faith and self sacrifice. Magic is sacred and the grail is the King himself - the country is the throne. All men are sorcerers and warriors and the boy can climb to the top only by the act of patricide. Orff, Wagner, and nature granting flowers on the knights that ride for the final battle... This is Art! - @Friday, May 8, 2015 10:06 PM

Don't let this trailer fool you. This movie is amazing. Maybe modern attention spans can't give it the time needed, but it's one of the richest, deepest movies I've ever seen. If you like Joseph Campell's perspectives on the King Arthur legend and it's regards towards spirituality, this movie fully plays off those themes. No other King Arthur movie can hold a candle to this one. - @Friday, October 10, 2014 5:17 AM

There once a time when you could enjoy an action film without being haunted by terrible 3 secs. shots and crap scene direction and also enjoy a tremendous music score. Hail to John Boorman! - @Tuesday, September 23, 2014 9:59 AM

This Boorman treatment of Camelot has got all the right visceral elements of the appealing kingdom story:  brutish assassins, imposing warlocks, looming wizards and kings, alluring conspirators, macho mercenaries, and blazing warlords. - @Saturday, September 20, 2014 10:12 AM

- @Tuesday, December 31, 2013 4:07 PM

With respect, the 2004 'King Arthur' was far better and more realistic to 5th Century Britain This was entertaining but far too theatrical like a lot of 80s fantasy films if you look into Arthurian legend you will see the 2004 version came closer to any portrayal of what a real Arthur may have been - @Friday, October 11, 2013 10:32 PM
