BEST IN THE WORLD
from non mormon i hope they make a film about that too " 3So Joshua and the whole army moved out to attack Ai. He chose thirty thousand of his best fighting men and sent them out at night 4with these orders: “Listen carefully. You are to set an ambush behind the city. Don’t go very far from it. All of you be on the alert.5I and all those with me will advance on the city, and when the men come out against us, as they did before, we will flee from them. 6They will pursue us until we have lured them away from the city, for they will say, ‘They are running away from us as they did before.’ So when we flee from them, 7you are to rise up from ambush and take the city. TheLord your God will give it into your hand.8When you have taken the city, set it on fire. Do what the Lord has commanded. See to it; you have my orders.”jousha(8:3-8) i hope to make it too - @Tuesday, February 28, 2017 6:29 PM

They sure did make Mormons look bad in this film, but search how the Mormons were treated in Missouri and how the whole entire US was trying to exterminate them... - @Tuesday, April 29, 2014 3:10 PM

wow im amazed how people can hate so much a religion, but why? cause they don't drink and smoke?? cause they are different? i mean compared with what other churches had done in past, mormons are the ones who stay pacifists, this is a MOVIE from HOLLYOOD writte by an evangelican and INSPIRED in true events  and im sure how they describe BY that is false, how can someone kill a person for his religion?? if you want to know about mormons, go to te church and investigate talk to a mormon no a mormon hated - @Sunday, February 2, 2014 6:57 AM

Hey, c'mon. Nothing's wrong with making a historic film. I've seen that Joseph Smith film, and they really exaggerate a lot of things, and they make non mormons look pure evil. - @Saturday, September 21, 2013 8:06 PM

Sipher, I agree with you on this one. This is a "church" that can't even get the birthplace of Jesus correct. ...Alma 7:10 states Jesus was born in Jerusalem...Luke 2:4-7 states Jesus was born in Bethlehem... - @Monday, March 26, 2012 9:47 PM

@1kinnyg Actually Warren Jeffs was not part of the same church. Back in the day people broke off from the main LDS church and formed their own groups...probably because they wanted to practice polygamy. - @Wednesday, February 29, 2012 3:30 PM

The gov was on a roll...Not only did he authorize the murder and coverup of the children, women and men of the Baker-Fancher wagon train in 1857, the very next year, the he authorized the taking up of arms agains the US gov...Not only was he a false prophet but his book he followed was and still is false...Alma 7:10 states Jesus was born in Jerusalem...Luke 2:4-7 states Jesus was born in Bethlehem...Not a hard one to figure out there... - @Thursday, June 23, 2011 2:13 AM

This movie is so far off I'm not even going to say it's based on a true story because the true story of the massacre is not found in this movie. - @Friday, April 22, 2011 10:20 PM

kenneth ferguson
Not only did the governor authorize the murder of 37 children, he was a flat out bigot... He is credited with having been responsible for revoking the priesthood and temple blessings from black members...In 1863, Young said, "Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so"... - @Wednesday, March 23, 2011 6:12 AM

Read Brigham Youngs violent and racist teachings in the journal of discources. Just a little sample: "Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot. This will always be so." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 10, p. 110). - @Wednesday, March 16, 2011 11:17 AM

"inspired" be actual events. Not accurate to actual events. Fascinating how things can be distorted. This depicts Mormons to be evil people, i find that to be extremely inaccurate and judgmental. Makes one wonder if it being rated R prevents mormons from setting the record straight considering they choose not to watch R rated films due to it's inappropriate content. Sure sounds like the values of monsters to me... ridiculous. - @Friday, January 22, 2010 9:29 AM

Turtleproof
The production quality is high, except for the corny flashback sequences. Major flaws are the obligatory character instantly shedding his faith to declare the Mormon leaders tyrants, and forced Romeo & Juliette plot. To see them calling on their followers to be "like Mohamed" and hearing John Voight quoting scripture, promising to name his planet after his wife- is well worth it. "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man. All who do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God." - @Thursday, January 21, 2010 8:19 AM

Its not about the money. Its about letting people know what happened. I even post it on my wall on facebook so that everyone knows. Church people are always trying to blame it on the Native American Indians. They are even trying to take their culture away, but they haven't. And they will not. - @Wednesday, November 18, 2009 1:54 AM

That movie is a flop and never been released on cinema in the UK (where I live). Must be a lousy plot and poor acting. I prefer to real facts and books. Yes it did happen, but nothing like the movie. - @Tuesday, September 1, 2009 12:19 AM

This movie gave me an enirely different perspective on mormonism. Religion shouldn't be forced upon anyone. It is free will to believe whatever one wants to believe. Beliefs shouldn't be solicited at one's door. I apologize and don't mean to offend anyone, but that just sounds like a cult to me. Im just saying. - @Sunday, August 23, 2009 2:13 AM

this is is typical mormon reply. i have done ALOT of research into mormonism and there is overwelming facts and evidence that puts holes in your religion thus making it false. the reasons your still a mormon is: 1)you have not done research into the history, theology and teachings of mormonism. 2)leaders in the church lie or hide the truth. 3)your blinded and dont want to believe otherwise ..even by comparing the bible to the BOM you can see mmmmmm - @Friday, January 2, 2009 5:54 AM

joey means Joseph Smith Jr..yes u got one thing right. you know it was wrong for people to kill him..BUT there are facts about joey that arnt all pretty. i wish mormons would stick their heads out of the sand and realize the factual history about this man and then u will realize that he is NOT who he says he his. (i mean no offence) - @Tuesday, December 30, 2008 10:49 AM

How about when people make a movie about us and bashing us, they make it RIGHT. Brigham Young had NOTHING to do with it. The Church did NOT support the killing of anyone. Get the facts straight. - @Wednesday, December 10, 2008 12:57 AM

Why wont the LDS church even admit that this happend? Because Mormons think they are the true church and are above everyone else. - @Tuesday, July 24, 2007 8:35 PM

Finally this skeleton is revealed. The Book of Mormon is fiction and not even very good fiction at that. It is not just another denomination. I have always been impressed with Mormon families but the whole church needs to reject the lie that was planted by the church founder. They don't need the lie to keep their faith. - @Sunday, May 13, 2007 8:11 PM

The Mormons were at war. An extermination order of the Mormons had been given. Mormon woman and children were murdered in cold blood at Hans Mill. The Army was sent to control or kill the Mormons. Gunmen were sent to kill Church leaders of the Church -- fleeing the Mormon posse, they joined a Wagon Train. The posse caught up, the men opened fire on the posse. It is unfortunate and sad woman and children were involved. War is dreadful. Innosent people die. Look at Iraq. - @Monday, May 7, 2007 1:42 AM

hmmm all under the age of 7. That makes since you do not get baptized untill you are 8. So it kind of looks bad for the mormons. - @Wednesday, May 2, 2007 7:28 AM
