Life for former United Nations investigator Gerry Lane and his family seems content. Suddenly, the world is plagued by a mysterious infection turning whole human populations into rampaging mindless zombies. After barely escaping the chaos, Lane is persuaded to go on a mission to investigate this disease. But there's already plenty of shows and movies that have slow zombies. This movie looks like it takes a whole new angle -- the horde as a hive mind; like a swarm of killer bees. I don't think so. There is more tension in a slow but inevitable death. There is less opportunity to explore the change from optimism to pessimism with fast zombies. A lot of the book was playing on the dangerousness of a huge horde of slow/stupid zombies. - @Monday, April 1, 2013 5:56 AM

Fast zombies are scarier and require more intelligence. Slow zombies are annoying cuz let the characters dumber. Yeah, cuz someone has to be pretty dumb to die for a slow zombie.
